Bring your videos, audio, images and downloads straight into AloPortal. We host them for you, so your fans watch and listen right on your portal.

πŸ’‘ Quick answer: in a post or a lesson, type / at the start of a line and choose Video, Audio, Image or File download.

πŸ› οΈ Where you can upload

  • Posts and lessons: type / to add video, audio, images and file downloads.

  • Course trailer: upload a short clip in your course's Overview, or cut one from a lesson video.

  • Your portal: click Portal designer in the left sidebar and switch to the Media tab above your page (on a phone, the bottom bar's Add button becomes Add media there). It holds the photos, videos and audio fans can browse. Picture and audio blocks take uploads; video blocks play a link from YouTube, Vimeo, Loom or Wistia.

πŸ’‘ Tip: already on YouTube? You don't need to upload it again. In a post or lesson, type / and choose YouTube video; on your page, add a Video block and click Choose a YouTube video. It plays with YouTube's player and doesn't count toward your video stored. See Use your YouTube videos with Alo AI.

Length depends on your plan

⚠️ Heads up: each plan has a longest single video and a total amount of video you can store. In a post or a lesson, a video longer than your plan's limit is turned away before it uploads, so you don't wait for nothing. If a video can't be used, the player tells you why (for example, "This video is too long"). Your numbers are in Plan limits.

πŸ’‘ How video works

  • You'll see the upload progress, then Processing your video…. It usually takes under a minute, and the video starts playing on its own when it's ready.

  • You can keep writing while it processes. Your work keeps saving.

  • Use Replace on a video, image, audio or file to swap it without rebuilding the lesson or post.

πŸ”’ Your content stays protected

Videos stream from private, short-lived links, and only to people who have access. There's no public download link to share around, so members-only video stays members-only. The same goes for images, audio and files inside members-only posts and lessons.

πŸ“Š Storage and video use

Images, audio and files count toward your storage. Video counts toward your video stored, and the time people spend watching counts toward minutes watched. Keep an eye on all three: click Settings in the left sidebar, then the Subscription tab.

Need room for more video? Remove videos you no longer use and they stop counting right away. We keep a removed video for 30 days in case you change your mind (undo, add it back or restore an older version), then it's deleted for good.

βœ… Good to know: reaching a limit never takes your page down. Everything you've already published keeps working.
