Taxes and identity checks for affiliates and ambassadors

Why Stripe verifies who you are, where your tax forms live, and when US partners get a 1099-NEC.

Because AloPortal sends you real money, a few checks and tax rules apply. Here's what to expect as an affiliate or ambassador.

✨ Quick answer: Stripe verifies your identity once, when you set up your payout account. Your commissions are your income, so reporting them is up to you. US partners paid $2,000 or more in 2026 get a 1099-NEC on the Member side, in Settings → Tax & documents.

🔒 Identity checks

When you set up your payout account, Stripe asks for your legal name, date of birth, address and bank details, and may ask for a photo ID. This is required by law for anyone receiving payouts, and it protects you from someone else cashing out your earnings.

You do this once, on the Member side: click Payouts in the left sidebar.
If Stripe needs anything else later, a notice appears at the top of your Payouts page. Cash outs can pause until it's done.
Your details go to Stripe, not to the creators you promote.

🧾 Taxes on your earnings

Commissions are income. Reporting and paying tax on them is your responsibility, in the country where you live. AloPortal doesn't withhold tax from your cash outs.

Where you are	What to expect
United States	If we pay you $2,000 or more in 2026, you get a 1099-NEC. The IRS adjusts this amount for inflation each year after 2026.
Everywhere else	No US form. Report your earnings under your local rules.

⚠️ Heads up: make sure the tax details you give Stripe during setup are correct. That's what your form is based on.

⚙️ Where to find your forms

Switch to the Member side

Switch to the Member side with the Creator / Member toggle at the bottom of the left sidebar (if you only use AloPortal as a member, you're already there). On a phone, tap the menu at the top-left first.

Open Tax & documents

Click Settings in the left sidebar, then the Tax & documents tab.

Find your forms

Your tax forms and Stripe documents appear there once they're issued.

You need a payout account first. Until then, the tab shows a Go to Payouts button.

Is my total measured before or after Stripe's cash out costs?

Before. The amount counted is what we paid you, before Stripe's cost of sending it.
