Your biggest fans are your best marketers. With an affiliate program, they share their own link to your portal and earn a commission on every sale they bring in. We track it and pay them for you.
β¨ Quick answer: on the Creator side, click Affiliates in the left sidebar and create an invite link, or turn on Affiliate program in Portal settings so any visitor can join.
π Two ways to bring in affiliates
People join instantly, with no approval step. You can pause or remove anyone at any time.
π οΈ Create an invite link
Open Affiliates
On the Creator side (the Creator / Member switch is at the bottom of the left sidebar), click Affiliates in the sidebar. On a phone, tap the menu at the top-left first.
Create invite link
Click Create invite link. Choose a code, a Commission %, and optionally Max acceptances and Expires.
Send it to your fans
Copy the link and send it to your top fans. Suggested affiliates shows past members who might say yes.
π οΈ Turn on the public program
Open Portal settings
On the Creator side, click Portal designer in the left sidebar, then the gear icon (Portal settings) in the designer's top bar. On a phone, tap Settings in the designer's bottom bar instead.
Turn on Affiliate program
On the Portal tab, turn on Affiliate program.
Set your rate and save
Set your Affiliate commission rate (%). It starts at 10%. Press Save all in the save bar.
Changing the rate only applies to people who join afterwards. Existing affiliates keep their rate, and you can change one person's rate from their row on the Affiliates page.
π³ How commission works
What earns: new subscriptions and every renewal for as long as the subscription lasts, plus one-time purchases like posts, courses and lifetime plans.
What doesn't: tips never earn commission, and nobody earns on their own purchases.
Tracking: a visit through an affiliate's link is remembered for 30 days. If someone clicks two affiliate links, the latest one gets the credit.
Refunds: if a payment is refunded or disputed, that commission is taken back.
β οΈ Heads up: commission is paid from your earnings, after payment processing and AloPortal's fee. At 100%, you'd earn nothing on that sale, so pick a rate that still works for you.
π³ How affiliates get paid
You never pay anyone by hand. The commission is set aside from each payment automatically, and AloPortal pays your affiliates directly. Each commission clears first (30 days for a new affiliate, shorter as they build a track record), and affiliates can cash out once they have at least $25 (or the same in their currency). Your affiliates follow their earnings on the Member side of their own account, under Affiliate, and cash out from Payouts there.
π Track your program
Once your first affiliate joins, the Affiliates page shows Your referral earnings (what you earned from referred sales, before affiliate commission), commission owed, active affiliates and clicks. Each affiliate's row shows their Commission earned, and conversions count each referred customer once, so renewals don't inflate the numbers. The Analytics tab breaks commission down by affiliate and by plan.
β Questions
How do I pause or remove an affiliate?
How do I pause or remove an affiliate?
Click the pencil on their row, then set Status to Paused or Removed. Their link stops bringing in new referrals. Members they already referred keep earning them commission, and anything they've earned stays payable.
Is this the same as the AloPortal ambassador program?
Is this the same as the AloPortal ambassador program?
