AloPortal uses Stripe to take payments and pay you. Your sales go to your own Stripe account, and Stripe sends your balance to your bank. Here's how to get set up.
β¨ Quick answer: pick your country while you set up your portal. Then, on the Creator side, click Payouts in the left sidebar and finish the steps Stripe shows you. You never leave AloPortal to do it.
π How setup works
Choose your country
It's one of the first questions when you create your portal. It sets your payout country and the currency your prices show in.
Your payout account is created
On the How will you earn? step, accept the Terms and press Continue. That creates your Stripe account in the background.
Open Payouts
Make sure you're on the Creator side (the Creator / Member switch is in the account card at the bottom of the left sidebar), then click Payouts in the sidebar. On a phone, tap the menu at the top-left first.
Finish your details
Under Finish setting up payments, Stripe asks for your details right on the page. If you skipped the country during setup, click Set up payouts first.
Wait for Stripe's check
Many accounts are approved in minutes. Some take a few days while Stripe reviews documents. You'll see Payouts are on once you're ready.
β οΈ Heads up: Stripe fixes your country when your payout account is created. Picked the wrong one? In Payouts, click Wrong country? Change it to start your payout setup over. Your portal stays as it is.
π οΈ What Stripe asks for
Stripe needs to know who it's paying. Expect things like:
Your name, date of birth and address
Whether you sell as an individual or a business
The bank account your money goes to
Sometimes a photo ID or a tax number
Stripe may ask for more later as your sales grow. When that happens, a banner appears in Payouts and Stripe emails you. Answer before the deadline it gives, or Stripe pauses your payouts until you do.
π Which countries work?
Creators can sell from more than 90 countries. The country list during setup only shows the ones that work, so if yours is there, you're good to go.
π³ Getting paid
Stripe pays your available balance to your bank automatically, on its usual schedule for your country. New sales take a few days to clear first.
Payouts β Overview shows your balance, your payout schedule and past payouts.
Payouts β Transactions lists every payment. You can refund a payment or answer a dispute from there.
The Manage payout details button under the tabs opens Stripe so you can change your bank account.
β Good to know: one Stripe account covers all your portals, so you only set it up once. Fans see your name on their card statement, not ours.
π A quick identity check
Once your earnings pass a set amount, we ask you to verify your identity with a photo ID and a selfie, through Stripe. Payouts wait until it's done. It takes a few minutes and you only do it once. Look for the Verify identity button at the top of Payouts.
