Collect tips

Turn on tips so fans can send you a one-time thank-you, in any amount they like.

Tips are the easiest way for fans to support you. Turn them on, and a tip button appears on your portal so anyone can send you a one-time thank-you.

✨ Quick answer: on the Creator side, open Portal designer, click the gear (Portal settings), and on the Portal tab turn on Accept tips. Then press Save all.

Open Portal designer

On the Creator side, click Portal designer in the left sidebar. On a phone, tap the menu at the top-left first.

Open Portal settings

Click the gear button (Portal settings) in the designer's top bar. On a phone, tap Settings in the bottom bar.

Switch on Accept tips

On the Portal tab, switch on Accept tips.

Write a thank-you message

Optional: write a Tip thank-you message. Supporters see it right after they tip, in your own words.

Press Save all

Press Save all in the save bar. The tip widget now shows at the bottom of your portal.

💝 What fans see

  • Three suggested amounts, plus the option to enter their own. The suggestions start at $5, $10 and $20 and adjust over time to what people actually tip on your page.

  • They can tip anonymously or sign in, and add a private message for you.

  • They pay without leaving your page, then see your thank-you message.

💳 Fees on tips

A tip is treated like any other sale. AloPortal's fee for your plan applies (15% on the free trial, 4% on Basic, 2% on Pro), and Stripe's processing fee is charged to your Stripe account. The rest is yours and pays out with your other earnings.

✅ Good to know: affiliates and ambassadors never earn commission on your tips.

Yes. The lowest tip is the same as the lowest price on AloPortal, $3 USD or about the same in your currency, and there's an upper limit to protect fans from typos.

Every tip shows in Payouts → Transactions along with your other payments.

Yes. Switch off Accept tips and press Save all. The tip widget disappears from your portal.
