Basic vs Pro: what's included and how to switch

What Basic and Pro each include, and how upgrading or downgrading works.

AloPortal has two plans. Both let you run a full creator business; Pro adds premium tools and a lower fee as you grow. Here's how they compare.

✨ Quick answer: Basic is $29 a month plus 4% of sales. Pro is $99 a month plus 2%. Upgrades apply right away; downgrades wait until the end of the period you've paid for.

Pro also comes with bigger allowances for Alo AI, video, email and storage. The Plan limits article has the numbers.

✅ Good to know: once you sell more than about $3,500 a month, Pro costs less than Basic, thanks to the lower fee.

🛠️ Move up to Pro

Open Subscription settings

On the Creator side, click Settings in the left sidebar, then the Subscription tab. On a phone, tap the menu at the top-left first to see the sidebar.

Click Choose Pro

Scroll to Choose a plan and click Choose Pro. You can also upgrade from any Pro feature in your portal.

Check the amount due

A window shows Due today: the exact amount, and the card it's charged to. It also shows what each renewal costs and the next renewal date.

Pay and upgrade

Click Pay (the button shows the amount) and upgrade. Nothing is charged until you do. Click Not now to leave your plan as it is.

Pro starts straight away and your billing date restarts from today. The unused part of your current plan is already taken off the amount due, so you only pay the difference. Stripe counts it to the second, so the charge can differ from the window by a few cents.

💡 Tip: if the window stays open for more than 30 minutes, or the amount goes up after you looked, nothing is charged. We ask you to try again so you can check the new amount first.

⚙️ Move down to Basic

Open Subscription settings

On the Creator side, click Settings in the left sidebar, then the Subscription tab. On a phone, tap the menu at the top-left first to see the sidebar.

Click Move to Basic

Scroll to Choose a plan and click Move to Basic at period end.

Confirm the switch

A window shows the date Basic starts. Click Switch on (the button shows the date) to confirm, or Keep my plan to change nothing.

Pro keeps running until the end of the period you've paid for, then Basic starts. Nothing is charged today and there's no refund for the rest of the period.

⚠️ Heads up: when Basic starts, your Pro features are hidden from your page, but nothing is deleted. Membership plans beyond your first 3 keep serving the members already in them and stop taking new ones. Move back to Pro and it all comes back at once.

I'm on my free trial. How do I choose Pro?

Tap any Pro feature and click Choose Pro, or pick Pro when you add your card. Pro starts when your trial ends.
