How many Alo AI credits you get each month, what uses them, how to top up, and what happens if you run out.

Alo AI runs on credits. Every plan comes with a monthly allowance, and you can top up any time you want more.
✨ Quick answer: your balance is the ⚡ meter at the top of the Alo AI panel (in Portal designer, click Build with Alo under the phone preview, or tap Alo AI in the bottom bar on a phone). Click the meter to see what's left or buy more credits.
💳 Your monthly credits
Monthly credits reset on the 1st of each month and don't roll over. New accounts also get 400 free welcome credits that never expire. Click the ⚡ meter to see your balance broken down: plan credits, what's left of your welcome credits, and any extra credits you've bought. See Plan limits for everything each plan includes.
📊 What uses credits
Working with Alo AI: each request costs what it actually takes. A quick edit uses a few credits, while a big build or a long course uses more.
Importing in bulk: before Alo AI imports a big batch of your posts or videos, it tells you roughly what it'll cost and waits for you to start it.
Concierge: if you turn on the fan-facing Alo AI on your page, each question it answers for a visitor uses 2 credits.
Watching one of your YouTube videos: when you ask Alo AI to watch a video from your own channel, it first shows a card with an estimate of the credits it needs. Nothing is used until you click Watch video, and you're charged what the watch actually took, which is usually less than the estimate. Asking about the same video again within 7 days is free.
✅ Good to know: you're only charged when something actually gets done. If a request fails, it costs nothing.
🛠️ Buy more credits
Click the ⚡ meter
Click the ⚡ meter in the Alo AI panel (or Get credits when you're running low). Or, on the Creator side, click Settings in the left sidebar, open the Subscription tab and click Buy credits under Usage this month.
Choose a pack
Choose 450 credits for $5 or 1,400 credits for $15.
Pay at checkout
Pay at checkout. You come straight back to the page you were on, your credits are added right away, and you'll get a receipt by email.
You can buy credits on any plan, including your free trial. Purchases also show on the Creator side in Settings → Billing, under Credits & top-ups.
⚠️ Heads up: extra credits (packs and your welcome bonus) never expire, and they're used before your monthly credits. That means unused monthly credits can reset on the 1st while your extra credits wait for later.
⚙️ When you run out
Alo AI pauses and shows You're out of Alo AI credits. Nothing is lost: anything already drafted stays safe, and Save all and Discard keep working. From there you can:
Buy credits and keep going straight away.
Upgrade to Pro for 2,000 credits every month.
Wait for your credits to reset on the 1st.
If you've turned on Concierge, its button disappears for visitors until you have credits again. We'll also warn you when you're running low.

No. The work was done, so the credits are used even if you discard the result. Review before you discard.

No. Credits follow what each request actually takes, so similar requests can cost slightly different amounts. The ⚡ meter always shows your balance.
