Posts are long-form writing on your portal: updates, essays, tutorials, behind-the-scenes notes. Keep a post free for everyone, save it for your members, or sell it on its own.
π‘ Quick answer: in the portal designer, open the Posts tab, click Write a new post, write, then press Publish.
π οΈ Write a post
Start a new post
Click Portal designer in the left sidebar, switch to the Posts tab above your page and click Write a new post. Or click Posts in the left sidebar, then New post. On a phone, tap the menu at the top-left first; in the designer, the bottom bar's Add button becomes New post on the Posts tab.
Add a title and subtitle
Add a title and a subtitle. The subtitle is the teaser people see in link previews and emails.
Type / to add things
Type / at the start of a line to add things: headings, lists, quotes, code, an image, audio, a video, a YouTube video, a file download, a callout, a divider or a Paywall cut. On your phone, tap +.
Add a cover image
Add a cover image (1200 Γ 630 works best). It's the picture people see when your post is shared. Or click Use a YouTube video to make one of your YouTube videos the cover: its thumbnail shows on your post cards and the video plays at the top of the post. An uploaded image wins if you add both.
Drag to move things
To move something, hover over it on a computer and drag the grip that appears on its left.
A YouTube video plays with YouTube's own player, so nothing is uploaded. See Use your YouTube videos with Alo AI.
β Good to know: posts save on their own as you type. The pill at the top says Draft saved, and readers see nothing until you publish.
π Choose who can read it
Click the access chip at the top of the editor to open Who can read this post?
Free for everyone: anyone can read the whole post.
Membership plans: only subscribers on the plans you pick.
One-time purchase: readers pay once and keep access to this post for good.
You can combine plans and a price: your members read it as part of their plan, and anyone else can buy it on its own. Selling a single post needs your payouts set up first.
βοΈ Choose where the free preview ends
For a members-only or paid post, add a Paywall cut where the free part should stop. Everything above it is public; everything below is for paying readers.
No cut? We show the opening of your post, roughly the first 10%, as text only. To show a picture in the free part, place it above a paywall cut.
π‘ Tip: switch the post preview from You to Visitor to see exactly what someone who hasn't paid will see.
π Publish or schedule
Press Publish to put your post live. It needs a title and some writing first.
On Pro, use Schedule for later to pick a date and time. Your post goes live within 15 minutes of it, even if you're offline.
Edited a published post? Your changes stay a draft until you press Publish changes. Readers keep seeing the live version until then.
π Email it to your subscribers
Once a post is live, choose Email subscribers from the β― menu (Post options) at the top of the editor. We send the title, a short teaser and a link, never the full post. Only subscribers who can already read it get the email.
β οΈ Heads up: each post can be emailed once, and every email counts toward your plan's monthly email sends, which reset on the 1st of each month. See Plan limits for your allowance.

Can Alo AI help me write?
Yes. Alo AI can draft and edit posts with you, or turn a video from your library into a post. On a post you've written, choose Split for subscribers from the β― menu and Alo AI suggests where the free preview should end. It never publishes: that's always your click.
